Description

While the far west has stunning craggy mountain tops, the east Blue Ridge Mountains excels in magical private places like this soft, multi-textured, cascading waterfall scene. Set in the high country of North Carolina in Stone Mountain State Park, near the Virginia line, I had this special place all to myself. In May, while some of the trees were still coming out in their light green colors, Widow Falls is glorious in light green highlighted leaves and rich umber colored rocks. The multi-level, water seemed to be magic against the fading Autumn leaves, acting as a counterpoint to the textured moss of wonderful greens. This photogenic would be magic in acrylic or metal.
