Description
It's that time of year when autumn colors cause the Blue Ridge Parkway to become a national and international destination. Being locals from the Lynchburg region, we choose to see our national treasure during the week. You are looking east here toward Lynchburg at sunset with reflected colors just beginning to show from the setting sun to the west. This particular night, the fog which came a short time later didn't dampen the colors as it did a bit later. Tomorrow rain may visit us, so the clouds are just beginning their descent into the area. Edited in a panorama image.
Now you know why these mountains were named the Blue Rudge Mountains. Even at the height of autumn leaf peeper season the blues of this landscape never are far for the vista.
