We'd been traveling for three days looking forward to a Blue Ridge layered sunset without success, one final night remaining, near Asheville, North Carolina, by Glassmine Falls Overlook, high up in the mountains at 5,000 ft. It didn't look promising and I packed up my camera equipment to cook dinner in our tiny trailer. Half hour later I looked out the window and a miraculous sunset was making an appearance. I quickly set up again and this is what I captured, proof that good things come to those who wait.
