Description
Even as a small child, one of my earliest memories is being taken to the ocean. To this day being around water soothes my soul and brings a calmness even during troubled moments. I expect I am not alone with these feelings.
The tiny village of McClellanville, South Carolina, along the inland coastal waterway, in the Francis Marion National Forest, has many sides to it's charm for me. Just north, there is a nature preserve, wonderful in Autumn and Winter as the sun reveals it's glory as it sets. This area historically was used for rice plantations. Now, you will find campers, families, solitary fishermen crabbing and people like me who somehow try to capture my feelings in photographs to share with others.
