Description
Lake Louise is a perfect landscape in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. Known for it's turquoise, glacier-fed lake ringed by high peaks, it is overlooked by a stately chateau hotel, the Fairmont Château Lake Louise.
. Hiking trails wind up to the Lake Agnes Tea House for it's bird's-eye view over perfection. There's a canoe dock in summer hosting red canoes, and a skating rink on the frozen lake in winter. The Lake Louise Ski Resort offers a wildlife interpretive center at the top of a gondola.
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is a Fairmont hotel on the eastern shore of Lake Louise, near Banff, Alberta opened in 1890.
The hotel was first conceived by the railway at the end of the 19th century, as a vacation destination to lure moneyed travelers into taking trains and heading West.
The natural areas around the hotel were incorporated into Banff National Park, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
