Description
One of a number of picturesque historic lighthouses along the outer banks of north carolina, this lighthouse is especially well positioned for night photography of the Milky Way because of dark skies in the area necessary for night photos.
The Milky Way is visible to the naked eye on clear nights from April through October.
We had a memorable trip to say the least. We managed to survive gale force winds in a tent on the beach, caught the Nags Head Lighthouse and the Milky Way and then over to photograph a Nags Head Pier at sunrise all in about 24 hours.
We stayed up all night because I ran into another female photographer. She was going to be alone and I didn't think it was safe for her to be there by herself, so my husband and I kept her company.
