Description

Probably the most photographed lighthouse in Maine and New England is the Portland Head Lighthouse, located in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, very close to Massachusetts line. I've been here several times and never tire of the beautiful display of waves crashing on the cliffs. This day in winter, the moon was nearly full, gently rising beside the violet Alpenglow of the setting sun just after sunset. The flag shows the velocity of the wild winds off in the distance.
