Historic Savannah, Georgia has a charm unmatched in all but a few cities, It's fun to meander down the old cobblestone streets bordered by old stone walls, ivy and wrought iron fences covered by ivy. Some of the alley streets are so narrow it is a wonder the ever frequent trolley cars can make the sharp bends in the walls, but they do, seemingly with ease. I wonder the stories these old walls could tell me if only they could talk to me. Even the overhead walk-way is picturesque with bright colors and wonderful metalwork.
At the head of this cobblestone street is the Savannah Old City Exchange Bell with a nearby historical marker. The bell was uned for all kinds of events, but was primarily used for announcing a fire.
