Description
We expected to see a big old party off the aircraft carrier, Yorktown parked at Patriot's Point on New Year's Eve, but it had gotten cancelled because of covid. So there wasn't much going on in the parking lot. A few people were catching tour boats on the Cooper River which were still running. I had hoped to get some fireworks over the bridge, but few were being shot off and even then the fireworks we saw were over by 10pm. By midnight everything was dead quiet.
The fog rolled in and for awhile we could only see the carrier with their lights on. The bridge was shrouded in fog? I had serious doubts about any kind of pictures, but mother luck was with me. The fog cleared over the bridge and I got some shots, but not with fireworks.
We were on our way to Florida in our tiny self-contained camper and hoped we could spend the night in the parking lot.
This picture of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge was taken at 12;16am just minutes into the new year, when a security guard kicked us out, and we were off to find a friendlier place to spend the night.
