Description
I always think of Aspens as the western version of the Eastern Birch. They both share an impossible glow when the sun hits them at sunrise or near sunset, acting as contrasts against azure blue, western skies. These beautiful versions stand like soldiers, not quite ready for the snows of winter which fell the following week near Telluride, Colorado.
It was a rainy overcast day in the Winton M. Blount Cultural Park, Montgomery, Alabama. Touring with friends in the area I saw this wonderful sculpture off in the distance as it was pouring rain outside. Not to be dissuaded I jumped out of the car and caught this sculpture of running frocking kids jumping over a puddle against one of the museums.
