Waterfront Park in historic Charleston, South Carolina is the site of this street life fountain at sunrise with endless displays of frolicking kids and dogs. It is one of my favorite places in Charleston and well worth a visit for a scenic stroll, especially in the morning or evening, when this fountain is lighted and in it's best light. This photo captures one of the two fountains in evening just after sunset set against the vibrant night life of Charleston.
Waterfront Park encompasses eight-acres along approximately one-half mile of the Cooper River in Charleston, South Carolina. The park received the 2007 Landmark Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The location of the park, between Vendue Range to the north and Adger's Wharf to the south, had historically been a center of maritime traffic with several wharves and shipping terminals. The area entered a long period of decline, capped in June 1955 b...
About Norma Brandsberg
Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
