One of my favorite things to do at the beach is watch the shrimpers off the coast of North and South Carolina out for their daily catches early in the morning with the dolphins and birds overhead flying around, waiting for what is thrown overboard. This particular Autumn afternoon we headed from Hilton Head, South Carolina over for lunch at a waterside restaurant in nearby Port Royal, close to Beaufort where we enjoyed the wonderful seafood and I topped it off taking this scenic photo of the harbor.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
