Artist's Description
I was looking for a multicolored sunset at Buck Hall Camprounds, north of Charleston, in McClellanville, but didn't get one while we camped there. What I did get is a study in contrasts. All the textures were on display, the dock against the water, the tree silhouettes, the lavender wall directing your eyes toward the dock and the sunset. Photographed in February. Isn't winter wonderful?

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
