One of the hidden secrets of Lynchburg is this scenic spot, the Old City Cemetery & Museum. This most beloved, burial ground was hallowed ground for the African community, for it was the only public place where African Americans could be interred. This cemetery is a living museum with numerous events during the year including reenactments, school tours, weddings, concerts & flower shows. In the center is a Confederate burial ground surrounded by old majestic Sugar Maples hovering over historic gravestones. Prints are available in full color, duotone black and white with hints of mint, blush and amber.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better.
