The Reine landscape is one of the most beautiful and photographed in Norway. It is characterized by its steep mountains, colorful rorbu fishing huts, and crystal-clear waters. Reine at sunset or sunrise is off in the distance, tiny colorful homes at the base of the mountains. In January sunrise and sunset occur withing minutes of each other making a tiny circle on the horizon.
The village of Reine is located on the western side of Moskenesøya, one of the Lofton Islands. The landscape is dominated by the Reinebringen mountain, which rises 600 meters (1,970 feet) above the village. The mountain is a popular hiking destination, offering stunning views of the surrounding area.
The fishing huts in Reine are a distinctive feature of the landscape. They are painted in bright colors, such as red, blue, and green, and they line the shores of the fjords. The huts are used by fishermen to store their gear and fish.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
