Artist's Description
This seemed to be a secret waterfall and I can't understand why. I did a lot of research on photoshoots I wanted. The only reason why I found the Nigel Waterfall off the Icefield's Parkway was we made a rest stop and found this beauty. Icefields Parkway crosses the canyon of Nigel Creek, and the vast majority of tourists are blissfully unaware that they are crossing right over one of the better waterfalls along the roadway. Nigel Fallsnhas a 109 foot drop located directly below the steel arch bridge spanning the gorge below the Big Bend in the Icefields Parkway. The falls can’t be seen at all from the road – you have to park on one side of the bridge and walk out onto the bridge to take in the view. This view was taken from the bridge.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
