Honfleur, France in Calvados county is a small historic village along the Normandy coastline. It has been an Impressionist painters' dream spot for hundreds of years. Quaint and charming, the old harbor area (Le Vieux Bassin) is a bustle of activity in the evening especially when the weather is great and the outdoor eating spots covered by colorful umbrellas light up the harbour area causing reflections in the waters.
Come back every day and the changing light and picturesque quays and you'll find no two are the same. This night I was trying to avoid the rain as it came in waves, with patches of sunlight peaking through.My photo has been edited in a panorama in sepia tones.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better.
