Overlooking the Gulf of Nicoya, the San Ramon, Costa Rica countryside at sunset is stunning, sunbeams reflecting off water off in the distance. We were there in winter during the time the sugar cane fields were being burned which created amazing atmospheric conditions resulting the most magical sunsets. Looking down the hillside to the Pacific side of the country, you see coffee plantation. On the right, you can see clouds over the world famous rainforest national park.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
