Description
One of the major passes, Niger Pass through the South Tyrol region of the Italian Dolomites, is an old, twisty elevated twisty roadway, a favorite with skiers in winter, bicycle riders, motorcycles and drivers in the warmer months. A mountain family chapel sits on the hillside along with two family horses grazing the day away on the wildflowers in June. The roadway itself runs over 5000 ft. with mountains much higher. The wildflower display in Niger passo was one of the reasons why we traveled here in June/July.
This area, the Nigerpass is near the winter sites of the 2026 Olympics in Cortina!
