Shot in the Dominican Republic, these cactus could be anywhere in the Caribbean, but the bright blue sky should be a big clue where their home resides.
The Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel is a beacon of history located in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. In 1909 the Terminal Station opened as the first railway station in the South, designed in the famous Beaux Arts style. The Choo Choo Hotel was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and remains one of the city’s first historic preservation projects.Guests can eat in a fine hotel restaurant located in back of the hotel in old railroad cars or a number of eateries in the main railroad lobby located in the old train station pictured here.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
