Artist's Description

The Box Cañon is Ouray, Colorado own wonder of the world, is the culmination of Canyon Creek narrowing and spilling thousands of gallons a minute of water over the falls. It is truly a dramatic scene. This photo of Box Canyon is an important bird area recognized by the National Audubon Society. the canyon is comprised of quartz walls towering the river falls below and is a marvelous place to see the splendor of the Aspens in prime leaf season.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
