Artist's Description
There is a reason why I keep coming back to the Peaks of Otter along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The views are outstanding any time of the year, but especially in Autumn when the leaves are changing. It is a real treat to stay at the Peaks of Otter Lodge at Abbott Lake, with views toward Sharp Top and Flat Top Mountains. Even the restaurant has these gorgeous views. Hiking trails are plentiful along the Applachian Trail which passes nearby for those interested in hiking, or walk around the lake on the paved trail. There are historic buildings nearby for those interested in history. The area is loaded with deer and other critters, so bring your walking sticks and enjoy the sweet music of nature.

About Norma Brandsberg
Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
