I've always loved to photograph during the blue hour, the hour after sunset and the hour before sunrise when colors peak in intensity, but in the Arctic, the colors take on new meaning. The blues are luminescent in quality. So this day which started out so miserable, with gale winds and depressing cloud cover ended up with glorious colors after sunset. We had headed out from Leknes down to Stamsund and then around the coastal road north with the intention of getting much further along this road, but near sunset the colors were so intense after the clouds opened up I stopped longer than I was intending. The narrow road were beginning to get slippery as the temperatures dropped a few degrees and large trucks were on the roadway after sunset, probably carrying fish back to Stamsund where there is a fish processing plant. So reluctantly, we headed back to Leknes for dinner and a good night's sleep.

Photography has encouraged me to create so beauty is noticed and appreciated. I am just a...

I love the colors, composition, negative space. I always loved reflections. Much of art is the ability to impart the desire: " I wish I would have been there and experienced the beauty".
