Description
Quaint, charming, perfect for an afternoon of rummaging through this interesting packed store is located in Forest, Virginia. For years, Rick's Antique Store, built 1876, formally Lindsay Store, decorated with an old VA Esso gas station sign has piqued my curiosity every time I have ride by. I've found out from relatives there was a wood shop behind the building where they made wagon wheels and furniture. Supposedly there was a previous general store in the area when the railroad came through.
Exuding old fashioned charm of years ago, a slower time, when people gathered at local businesses to learn the local news and interface with friendly neighbors. It is a local landmark, one stop away from the big town of Lynchburg. The sun is setting casting a golden glow over the nearby scenery.
Located near Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
