Description

Some of the lower areas of the Lofoten Islands in Norway are subject to flooding during gale conditions, high tides and a full moon around Reine. Sakrisora (Sakrisoy) pictured near Anita's Seafood and Andøy Vest Rorbuer, Hamnoy, Moskenes experienced floods while we were there. We were in the far south of the Lofoten Islands toward the end of our trip early and mid January. The next day, the cod fish drying racks, normally on dry land were under water, but by the next day they were out of harm's way. Three red, typical, charming Rorbuer, Rorbu, fishermen's cabins are pictured in evening at the foot of this stunning Lofoten mountain range, covered in winter snow.

These delightful old,red Rorbuer (Rorburer) cabins, pictured against the winter, white mountains are some of my fondest memories of this beautiful area.
