Description

One of the most scenic views in the Italian Dolomite Mountains has to be the Ra Gusela mountain in the Passo Giau. The views at sunrise and sunset are iconic and a must see for those for anyone visiting the area. This day the weather changed every 5 minutes literally. We saw sun, rain, sleet, snow and the winds were just horrible.

A Cortina d'Ampezzo race was occurring, the runners looked miserable as they finished the race here, rain dripping off their hair, some with blankets wrapped over their shoulders, the runners trying to warm up which was impossible. I saw several ambulances probably carrying runners to the hospital. Even in July it was very cold and I couldn't wait to get back to the car.
