It isn't enough to plan using the Internet. Sometimes you just have to drive and discover for yourself. We'd been touring, photographing my wish list of sites, but I'm a meander at heart, so one day we headed straight up on one of the tiny back roads and discovered this mountain peak near sunset, just after noon in January. This is Mount Olstind or Olstinden as the Norwegians call it, near Moskenes in front of you, surrounded by lavender skies and snow covered craggy peaks on either side of this majestic scenery.
I'd been hopeful to catch the Northern Lights while there, but the clouds were overhead the time we were there, but was equally happy to get fine art photographs like this while there. The air is crystal clear there which makes the colors much more intense.
