The moon was out almost full when we headed out to photograph Charleston at night. Walking through the old section close to the battery and the park, I spotted this charming beauty of an old, brick house with moonlight overhead, helping to complete a most endearing scene. The battery scars of past earthquakes only added to the scene.
The Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel is a beacon of history located in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. In 1909 the Terminal Station opened as the first railway station in the South, designed in the famous Beaux Arts style. The Choo Choo Hotel was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and remains one of the city’s first historic preservation projects.Guests can eat in a fine hotel restaurant located in back of the hotel in old railroad cars or a number of eateries in the main railroad lobby located in the old train station pictured here.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
