Description

Look at the mountain hillside. I used no filters on my camera or processing.

Every photographer has been asked multiple times out in the field if we have gotten some good photographs. I usually do answer in the positive, but that I won't know what I have until I begin editing. This photo is one I never imagined! Captured in the Italian Dolomite Mountains, in northern Italy, part of the Alps,

On editing I was getting colors I have never seen on mountains. I used my editing software to change them into more traditional colors, but never was able to produce "normal" color combinations. This photo was fighting me!! This photo was taken near sunset and had deep clouds overhead. The combination of both of these factors could have changed the colors by acting like a prism of the water droplets. It is truely the only explanation I can imagine. The mountain looks like it is a kaleidoscope paisley of unusual color designs.

The mountain was speaking to me. Don't change me into something else, enhance what you have been given, so I did and this is the result.
