Description
It was the year of the fire in the Canadian Rockies. We had a trip planned to go Banff, Canada and the surrounding areas, but massive fires south and west of us almost stopped our trip. We decided to chance the trip and one of the days passing on the Trans-Canada Highway, near Canmore and Banff, almost stopped me cold as we attempted to travel north to get away from the smoke. The sunrise was unsettling to say the least as the colors changed into unusual shades of orange almost blocking out the sun. I quickly grabbed by camera and validated the colors I was seeing framed by the adjoining the nearby mountain silhouetted against the unique almost night time appearing sky.
Various editing filters have been applied to my original photograph.
