Description
This view is located in the Jefferson National Forest, part of the Blue Ridge Parkway between Lynchburg and Roanoke, near Bedford and Buchanan, Virginia. Making the trek up is always a labor of love, but when I saw the clouds, I was doubtful any of my grand plans to photograph an eclipse later that night would materialize. The clouds were too heavy and pervasive. So plan B was in effect. If the clouds are too heavy, maybe the sunset cloud god would bless me and bless me he did. The lighting was fabulous most of the night, but the eclipse only showed for a couple of minutes. The tiny reflections off to the left are the James River leading up to the head waters near Buchanan.
