One of the most stunning places I have visited...Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies is a place you must visit. We visited during the summer of wildfires, but our trip was planned, tickets booked and so we went, not expecting much. What the fires did was make wonderful displays in the clouds toward sunset as seen here reflected in the mountain lake below.

Like many photographers, I didn't begin the process becoming a professional photographer, as a conscious decision. The decision was a linear progression over many years. I like to travel, so naturally would photograph to document our travels. My before retirement job required I learn the basics of photography and programming using a point and shoot camera. The move to professional photography changed over time. I was encouraged to buy a better camera as my photographs got better. Gradually as my photography got better, I was further encouraged to move to selling and becoming a professional. We are surrounded by beauty, but so much isn't noticed.
